Crystal Springs Cheese

Always wanting to own a dairy manufacturing facility, Evert and Jannie Beyer realized a dream when back in May of 2005 they purchased Crystal Springs. The first few years were spent working on Feta and Gouda, expanding the customer base, and perfecting the art of making cheese. Crystal Springs has been a labor of love and a family passion. Along with founder Evert, his sons Jacco and Harvey operate the cheese factory and son Theo runs the dairy farm. Daughters Bernice and Jocelyn also help out in the retail store whenever they can. Within the factory is also a retail cheese store, designed as the perfect place to kickback, take a break and enjoy some samples or a full out meal. The store features hot and cold menu items, locally sourced wine, beer and spirits (also available for off sales) and a full retail space featuring the dairy products and a selection of local and imported dry goods. While you relax, take a look through the large windows where you can see them hard at work making their fabulous cheese and dairy products! Come early for the most action – most of the cheese romance occurs in the morning. Open Monday thru Saturday, don’t forget to check out the ever-popular factory tours.
