About
Open since 1938, The Binerie Mont-Royal is one of the core Quebecois institutions in Montreal. In 2009, the restaurant was awarded a certificate in geo-tourism excellence by National Geographic Society. This certificate is given when a certain location preserves the culture & identity of the region, all while contributing to the well being of its residents.
Once a quaint 23-seat restaurant, the new 96-seat location is just two blocks away from the original. Many patrons include the restaurant in their weekly routine, whether its to pick up a pint of the world-famous baked beans, or to have a delicious home-cooked meal. Breakfasts are served all day, so you’ll find some very happy customers coming in for bacon & eggs at 7 PM.
Tourtière (meat pie), meatball ragout, shepherd's pie and poor man’s pudding are some of the many popular and traditional dishes you’ll find in this establishment. Want a little taste of everything? Travellers from around the world will benefit from the Traditional Quebec Meal, a must-have dish that includes all the main specialties in 1930’s Quebec culture. The new location has also added modern items to the menu, such as oven-baked fish & chips and poutine, also cooked in the oven. You will also find a unique selection of beers from local Quebec breweries, wines & spirits from the Quebec region and cocktails made from local ingredients. Situated in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal, this restaurant is an absolute must-see for any traveller visiting Montreal & wanting to experience true Quebec culture.
