About
Watch as cranberries go from bog to bottle with Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery- one of Ontario’s few cranberry farms.
Started by Orv Johnston in 1950, this farm was only Ontario’s second cranberry farm and was the only one for several years from the mid 1950s to the early 1970s. Together with his wife, June, Orv pioneered the cranberry industry and was able to hand it off to his son Murray and his wife Wendy- both graduates from the University of Guelph.
Once Murray and Wendy took over, they expanded to include award-winning wines (Muskoka Lakes) which you can find on-site as well as at the LCBO. They also expanded to add on a number of tourism experiences including the Signature Canadian Experience- Bog to Bottle Discovery.
Additionally, visitors can take part in other Muskoka must-do activities on site like wine tasting, hike, snowshoeing in the winter and during harvest season, the cranberry plunge!
Guests can visit the farm all year round and enjoy all kinds of activities so whether you’re just craving a glass of wine on the patio or heading right into the bog yourself (in season)- you’re sure to love have a great time.
