About Shuswap
A relatively undiscovered food lovers’ paradise awaits. Welcome to the Shuswap in BC’s Interior.
Tucked slightly north of the Okanagan, east of the Thompson, and south of the Columbia in British Columbia’s interior, the region offers a four season climate, warmer than its northern neighbours’ winters and more temperate than the Thompson Okanagan summers. The growing conditions are ideal and the region, with a population of 60,000, is two and a half times the size of Prince Edward Island. Agriculturally rich, the Shuswap boasts over 600 farms, or one for every 100 residents, and shares the four arms of Shuswap Lake that has over 1,000 kilometres of shoreline. Nestled between the valleys, hills and mountains, the Shuswap features almost as many hiking, cycling and skiing trails as the lakeshore itself.
