À propos
Ciderworks is dedicated to crafting authentic, small-batch cider using only certified organic apples grown on Salt Spring Island. With a deep commitment to sustainability and tradition, every cider is made from a single orchard, with no added sugar or artificial inputs—just pure, naturally fermented apples.
Founded in 2011 by Peri Lavender and Brian Webster, Ciderworks began as a mission to preserve and promote rare cider apple varieties. Their orchard now boasts over 425 heritage and connoisseur apple varieties, specifically grown for cider-making. Every apple is harvested, pressed, and fermented on-site, resulting in dry, complex ciders that reflect the unique character of Salt Spring Island.
Keeping production intentionally small, Ciderworks sells most of its ciders within 100 kilometers of the orchard, ensuring a truly local product. The harvest determines production—when nature provides abundantly, more cider is made; when the season is lean, production scales back. This commitment to quality over quantity defines their approach.
For those who value real cider, made with carefully grown apples and minimal intervention, Ciderworks offers a taste of Salt Spring Island’s rich agricultural heritage in every bottle.
