Canadian Food Scenes to Discover this Fall, Part 1: Regina

By Sarah Israel/

Great Taste of Canada

Fall is the perfect time to explore a new food scene! As the air turns crisp and the leaves turn red and gold, we’re taking you on a tour of Canadian food scenes that deserve a closer look. First up: Regina, Saskatchewan!

You may be asking yourself this question: “why Regina?” Saskatchewan supplies more than a third of the world's total exported wheat, and it can be easy to write off the entire province of Saskatchewan as one big prairie. But the capital city of Regina is pushing back against this broad definition. The city is home to approximately 220,000 residents who bring together their cultures and countries to create an interesting (and tasty) food scene.

Here are a few spots to check out on your next visit to Regina:

  • Lakeview Fine Foods

    3404 Hill Ave, Regina, SK

Lakeview Fine Foods is an independent grocery outlet in the Lakeview neighbourhood of Regina. In addition to groceries, this small-but-mighty shop also carries prepared foods and sandwiches served on local bread from Lockwood Sourdough.
