Launched in 2022, Toronto became the first Canadian city featured in the MICHELIN Guide, joining the ranks of global dining destinations like New York and Chicago. The 2024 guide broadens its scope beyond the city to celebrate the diverse talents of chefs and restaurants across the greater Toronto area and showcase more of Ontario’s culinary experiences.
About the MICHELIN Guide
Globally recognized as the gold standard for restaurant excellence, the MICHELIN Guide originally began in France in the early 20th century as a way to promote car travel and tire sales. It has since evolved into a trusted source for travellers to discover high-quality restaurant and hotel recommendations.
MICHELIN awards one, two, or three stars to restaurants offering outstanding cooking. One star means that a restaurant is “worth the stop,” two stars indicates that it is “worth the detour,” and three stars means that it is “worth the special journey.”
